Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, ending a relationship that has spanned over two decades. Lopez, 55, submitted the divorce paperwork on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, coinciding with the second anniversary of their wedding in Georgia, as reported by CBS Los Angeles.
Lopez and Affleck first became engaged in the early 2000s but called off their wedding just before it was set to take place. Lopez later married singer Marc Anthony and was briefly engaged to former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, while Affleck, 52, was married to actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children.
The couple rekindled their romance in 2021, marrying in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, and holding a formal wedding in Georgia on August 20, 2022. Lopez’s divorce filing comes exactly two years after their Georgia ceremony.
In May, Lopez canceled her summer concert tour, citing a need to spend time with her children and close family. She expressed her disappointment online, stating, "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary."
A representative for Lopez declined to comment when reached by CBS News.
